Shopian- MLA Shopian, Adv Shabir Ahmad Kullay, on Wednesday, urged authorities to take strict measures against what he described as the growing menace of unverified social media activity. Addressing reporters in Shopian, the legislator said the trend of self-styled social media influencers had reached a level where it was “creating a mess everywhere and damaging the sanctity of information.”
Kullay appealed to the Director General of CID and other concerned officials to initiate a thorough process of verifying the credentials of such individuals. He stressed that while social media is an important tool in today’s digital age, its misuse by untrained and unaccountable individuals has become a matter of serious concern.
