Striking Toronto postal workers were joined by labour activists and community members Wednesday morning as part of a joint day of action protesting proposed changes to Canada Post.

The day of action, which took over a section of Queen Street near Pape Avenue, aimed to push back against what they say is a move to privatize Canada Post that jeopardizes both jobs and public access.

"We're a public service, we love our jobs … we know Canadians across the country need us and we want to make sure we're able to serve them," said Robby Jouhal, a union executive with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), which represents over 55,000 postal workers, at the protest .
