Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders gets warmed up before an NFL football game at Huntington Bank Field, Sept. 21, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Shedeur Sanders isn't having the rookie NFL season he'd envisioned. The reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year slid from a potential spot in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft all the way to the fifth. He wasn't even the first quarterback selected by the Cleveland Browns last spring.

His rookie counterpart, Dillon Gabriel, has since been tabbed to replace an ineffective Joe Flacco as the team's starter for a Week 5 London showdown against the Minnesota Vikings. Sanders, however, didn't get a similar bump up the depth chart. He's still the team's third quarterback, leaving him as an emergency option at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But if Sanders is bothered by this, he isn't complaining. In fact, he isn't saying anything, even if his lips are moving.

Sanders muted himself when asked about his place on the depth chart, pantomiming speaking without any words coming out. He did appear to be saying something, however. Lip readers across social media believe it's along the lines of:

"I can’t speak right now. I'ma enjoy myself, I’m having fun”

So, there you go. Sanders may be quasi-self censoring, but he's also not saying anything that would get him in any trouble with the team. All of which suggests, yeah, he's probably having fun.
