ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Two women were arrested earlier this week for running a confidence scam to steal several pairs of designer sunglasses from a store in St. Charles.

According to probable cause statements from the St. Charles Police Department, the thefts happened on Sept. 19. The name of the targeted business was not provided.

Police said Markita Fisher and Yolanda McCoy entered the store with a small child. McCoy and the child approached the counter while Fisher walked around the store.

McCoy allegedly distracted the manager with conversation while Fisher took approximately 15 pairs of high-value sunglasses from brand names Louis Vuitton and Gucci, among others.
