SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WKOW) — A student was found with a steak knife at Prairie View Middle School on Wednesday.
The incident was reported to the Sun Prairie Police Department at 8:49 a.m., according to a press release.
School staff, alerted by a safety monitoring system, isolated the student and placed the school on hold. A hold is when students and staff remain safely in their classrooms while administrators address a situation.
Police officers de-escalated the situation, securing the knife and taking the student into custody. No injuries were reported.
Because the student is a juvenile, their name will not be released.
