Capgemini announced on Wednesday that Sanjay Chalke will take over as chief executive officer of Capgemini in India from January 1, 2026. He succeeds Ashwin Yardi, who will retire from his role after seven years at the helm and move into a new position as non-executive chairman of the company’s India board.

The change marks the end of a significant tenure for Yardi, who has been with Capgemini for three decades and has led its India operations since 2018, the company said in a statement announcing the leadership transition. As non-executive chairman, he will continue to nurture stakeholder relationships and support Chalke during the transition, it added.
