A 76-year-old man was injured when the driver of a box truck hit him on Route 177 in Farmington on Wednesday and took off from the scene, police said.
The crash was reported in the area of Depot Place around 1 p.m. when officers received the report of a collision involving a pedestrian, according to Lt. Kyle A. Noddin of the Farmington Police Department .
The pedestrian, a 76-year-old Rocky Hill man, suffered what was believed to be minor injuries, Noddin said. He was taken in an ambulance to an area hospital.
The vehicle that was involved was described as a white box truck without any known markings on it, according to Noddin. The driver reportedly fled the scene heading south on Route 177 toward Route 6. The vehicle could not be immediately located.
