COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol said a man is in custody after a deadly hit-and-run crash in Richland County on Wednesday.
SCHP said the wreck happened at around 6:30 a.m. on Bluff Road near the intersection of Blackberry Road in the Eastover community.
Troopers said a 2008 Lexus sedan hit a pedestrian trying to cross Bluff Road before leaving the scene. The vehicle was later located and the driver, identified as 55-year-old James Hargrave, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene.
Records show Hargrave was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center after his arrest. As of around 4 p.m. Wednesday, the pedestrian has not been identified.
No further details were immediately available.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
