NORMAN — Oklahoma’s matchup with Kent State on Saturday looms as a potential “now or never” moment for running back Jaydn Ott.

The Cal transfer was expected to transform OU’s running back room when the Sooners signed him out of the spring portal, but Ott has instead been a nonfactor through a 4-0 start.

Ott has taken just nine carries for 17 yards this season and didn’t play a single snap in OU’s Southeastern Conference opener versus Auburn.

Still, receiver Deion Burks indicated after the Auburn game, in which the Sooners rushed for just 32 yards, that he believes Ott could be a salve for OU’s run game woes.
