PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Peoria County is hosting a free block party to celebrate the county's Bicentennial on Saturday.

The party will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., with the main stage being located near Main and North East Adams streets near the courthouse, county spokesperson Tim Shelley said.

During the party, the winner of the Mini-Bison contest will be announced and unveiled on a large-scale bison sculpture. A ceremony will also be held during the event to commemorate the renaming of the Courthouse Plaza.

The party will also feature bands, a giant slide, a rock climbing wall, a petting zoo and a variety of food and beverages will be available for purchase.
