A trial date has been set in the assault case against Niagara Falls city Coun. Mike Strange.
Strange, 55, a three-time Olympic boxer, was arrested and charged with assault by Niagara Regional Police in early May in relation to an incident in Niagara Falls.
In Ontario court of justice in St. Catharines on Wednesday, a representative of defence lawyer Michael DelGobbo said a trial is scheduled to begin in April 2026.
Two days have been set aside for the trial.
Strange did not attend court on Wednesday.
A police spokesperson said previously officers were called to a residence at about 3 a.m., on May 3, for a report of a domestic assault.
Police said officers arrived to find an adult female with injuries. She was treated at the scene.
