A north London neighbourhood will see a 32-bedroom development built on the site of what was a single-family home, and neighbours are slamming city hall for allowing it.
A developer has received the green light to build two, four-unit buildings at 545 and 547 Elmdale Ave. in the Adelaide Street and Fanshawe Park Road area. There will be four bedrooms in each unit and each bedroom will feature an en suite bathroom.

That means there will be 16 bedrooms in each building.
But in a letter to neighbourhood residents dated June 14, 2024, from city hall, notifying residents that property owner Lukas Janic has asked for a variance to build on a smaller-than-allowed lot size, officials state it is “to permit a single-detached dwelling.”
Residents believed that meant a single
