CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Stone Memorial High School student has been charged with making a threat of mass violence after students told teachers about some "alarming statements" on Wednesday.
The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, Crossville Police Department and Cumberland County Schools issued a joint press release on Wednesday, saying that a student at Stone Memorial High School was charged with making a threat of mass violence after "alarming statements" were made to students.
Multiple students reported that threat to a teacher, and the District Threat Response Team, which is made up of school officials, members of the Crossville Police Department, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Office of Homeland Security, responded to investigate the threat.
