ARDMORE, Ala. (WHNT) — Community members are stepping in to support a family who lost a father and his 6-year-old son to a house fire last month.
Jennifer Griffin said that by the time she and her family woke around midnight on Aug. 28, the entire home was filled with smoke. They lost everything that they owned.
Griffin’s husband, Dakota Daly, and their 6-year-old son Jaydin died in the fire.
Griffin says her husband did everything that he could to save them, but she has little idea of how to move forward.
“I don’t really know what to do going forward from today. I guess it’s one day at a time,” Griffin explained. “I just don’t know.”
The Ardmore community is doing its best to step in while paying for the funeral expenses and donating more clothes and items than the family needs.
