ANN ARBOR – Michigan sophomore linebacker Cole Sullivan drew rave reviews during preseason camp, but his path to playing time was going to be difficult.

The Wolverines were deep at their inside linebacker spots with starters Ernest Hausmann and Jaishawn Barham returning and veteran Jimmy Rolder healthy once again.

However, after Sullivan recorded five tackles, a sack and an interception in just 15 defensive snaps in Michigan’s 34-17 season-opening win over New Mexico, the coaching staff felt he was too impactful to keep off the field.
