ANN ARBOR – Michigan cornerback Jayden Sanders was fully cognizant of where he stood on the depth chart when he first arrived on campus.

The former four-star recruit out of Kilgore High in Texas was the lowest-ranked of Michigan’s five defensive back signees in the 2025 class and was the only one of the group who did not enroll early and participate in spring practices.

Putting Sanders further behind the 8-ball, he was one of a handful of freshmen participating in the school’s bridge program, forcing him to miss some meetings during preseason camp. However, he was determined not to fall behind. Schembechler Hall, the team’s headquarters, became his residence.
