PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — City leaders have agreed to settle a lawsuit with two women who accused police of injuring them after they were mistakenly pulled over.

Portland City Council unanimously approved the $150,000 settlement during a meeting on Wednesday, more than two years after the incident that sparked the lawsuit filed by Hilary Rossio and Colleen McDonald.

City officials reported that the women filed the complaint over a traffic collision with the Portland Police Bureau on Aug. 29, 2023. In late October of that year, the plaintiffs told KOIN 6 they were “t-boned” by authorities while traveling along Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway as they returned from a trip to the Columbia River Gorge.
