TOLLESON, Ariz. — Amazon has paused its drone service after two drones crashed in Arizona, a source told 12News. The two Amazon Prime Air drones crashed Wednesday morning at a West Valley facility, officials say.

The drones apparently struck the same crane conducting construction work near 99th Avenue and Interstate 10, according to the Tolleson Police Department. No injuries were reported and the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed two MK30 drones collided with the crane and the agency will be investigating the incident.

The Phoenix Hazmat Unit also responded to the scene due to complaints of smoke and reported damage to lithium-ion batteries.
