Some services at Fort Bragg will be "curtailed" because of the government shutdown that went into effect Oct. 1, the installation announced on its social media page.

In a statement to The Fayetteville Observer on Oct. 1, a Fort Bragg spokesperson said the shutdown means reduced staffing at some administrative and support facilities.

"Fort Bragg is committed to continuing essential services for Soldiers, Families, and the community during the government shutdown," the spokesperson said. "While many civilian employees will be furloughed, the Fort Bragg Garrison team will prioritize maintaining life, health, and safety functions on the installation."
