Dr Jane Goodall's love of nature and the chimpanzee is world-renowned, yet even in death, the environmentalist's personal love life was hardly mentioned.

Goodall has died, age 91, with the news confirmed in a statement released by The Jane Goodall Institute .

Her work with chimpanzees brought fame, and it would be easy to assume when reading about her life that they were her only loves.

Even the acclaimed biographical documentary about her released in 2017, Jane , hardly mentioned Goodall's past loves, while some obituaries following her death did not mention her two marriages, one of which produced a son.
