This fall semester saw the largest increase in Indiana residents enrolling in the state's public colleges and universities since 2010, according to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.

Data released by the commission Monday showed overall enrollment at public higher education institutions statewide increased for the fourth consecutive year, growing by nearly 4,230 students, or 1.7% from last fall.

The enrollment gains come despite data released earlier this year, which showed less than 52% of Indiana high school graduates in 2023 attended college directly after high school, the lowest in recent record.
