From leaders of the state’s tribal nations to employees at Tinker Air Force Base , Oklahomans are bracing for the fallout of a government shutdown with no end in sight.

Federal funding lapsed at midnight Wednesday, Oct. 1, shutting down the government as President Donald Trump and congressional Democrats blamed each other for failing to reach a deal. While negotiations are ongoing among lawmakers in Washington, DC, some Oklahomans are working without pay and waiting for help from the government they had been counting on.
