Two men charged in the downtown stabbing death of another man have been upgraded to murder.

Police responded to reports of a stabbing and robbery in the 0-100 block of Dermot Baldwin Way S.E. at 8:40 p.m. on July 24 where they found a badly-injured man.

Gurdeep Singh Mundi, 37, was taken to hospital where he died on Aug. 13.

“Immediately following the incident, members of the Mounted Patrol Team, who were already patrolling the area, located and arrested two suspects nearby,” police said in a press release Wednesday.

Neil Henderson 36, and Donovan Cameron Collins, 34, were both initially charged with aggravated assault. Those charges have now been upgraded to second-degree murder.
