In response to the current government shutdown, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is sharing details regarding which services to veterans are impacted.

A government shutdown went into effect Tuesday night after lawmakers deadlocked and missed the deadline for funding the government.

VA estimates 97 percent of VA employees continue to work during a shutdown, according to the VA Human Capital Contingency Plan. So, there are services that will continue to operate normally.

Despite this, VA says there are several services to veterans that will not be available during the shutdown.

Here is a list of services to veterans that are impacted:

VA will cease providing transition program assistance and career counseling.

Call Centers: VA’s GI Bill (1-888-GIBILL-1) and National Cem
