MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Louisiana State Police and Ruston Police Department arrested a Baton Rouge man accused of driving more than 100 mph, going the wrong way on I-20.
Law enforcement arrested Calvin Giounes, 28, shortly before 8 p.m. on Sept. 30.
RPD said Giounes wrecked his vehicle near the 700 block of Woodward Avenue and ran away.
According to RPD, a member of Trinity Methodist Church reported they had seen the suspect nearby.
RPD said law enforcement started searching around Trinity Methodist, and they found Giounes in the church’s lobby.
LSP arrested Giounes.
The investigation is ongoing.
