PHOENIX — A 16-year-old girl died Tuesday afternoon following a vehicle collision that occurred on Saturday in the East Valley, authorities said.
The girl, who was the driver of the car, died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to the Gilbert Police Department.
“Our thoughts are with her family during this difficult time,” Gilbert police said in an announcement. “Two other teens remain hospitalized and are receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.”

On Saturday, officers responded to reports of a single vehicle collision east of Gilbert Road on Williams Field Road just after 10 p.m.
