WATERVLIET, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Wednesday, a fire broke out near 1326 seventh Ave and 1330 in Watervliet. Two houses had caught fire around noon. The houses that caught fire were side by side to each other. The fire traveled from the house on the left to then the house right because of the wind according to Thomas Garrett fire chief of Watervliet.

Chief Garrett tells News10's Tyanna Xavier who was on the scene that when they arrived (the firefighters) on the scene the fire was still going. There was eight adults and one child between both houses and the Red Cross was helping them. Fortunately, no one was injured and everyone and everyone made it out on time and is safe.

“We have one State Office of Fire Prevention Control coming up to help us find out what started the fire,” said Chief Garre
