A Delaware man running an animal sanctuary out of his home has been charged with animal cruelty after a team of officers found nearly 100 animals living in horrible conditions, according to the state's Division of Public Health .
Mark Ptomey, 39, founded Pets and Wildlife Sanctuary, Inc. based at his house in New Castle, Delaware, officials said.

Members of the Delaware Animal Services and the New Castle County Code Enforcement teams searched Ptomey's home on Sept. 24 and found 98 animals living in unsafe and unsanitary surroundings, officials said.
