TVK chief Vijay announced on Wednesday that he will cover school and college expenses for families affected by the tragic stampede at his rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, while also offering job opportunities within his group and providing life insurance to those impacted.

Earlier, Vijay had announced a compensation of Rs 20 lakh for the families of each of the 41 people who died and Rs 2 lakh for the nearly 100 people injured in the incident.

“I am ready to cover the necessary school and college expenses for families affected by the Karur tragedy, provide employment opportunities within our group and offer life insurance as well," wrote Vijay’s team in an X post.
