CEDAR COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - A Cedar County man was sentenced to over a decade in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine.

44-year-old Shane McDowell, of Clarence, pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of a controlled substance in March.

Police say McDowell acquired methamphetamine from multiple different sources and sold it to drug customers between 2016 and 2022.

In February 2024, McDowell sold over 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine to officers through multiple controlled purchases.

McDowell was sentenced to nearly 12 years in federal prison and a five-year supervised release following imprisonment.
