Forests, national parks to stay open during shutdown, but services may be limited

National parks and national forests will remain open during the U.S. federal government shutdown — at least for now — but services may be limited, officials said Wednesday.

The federal government shut down Wednesday after Congress failed to pass a funding bill before the beginning of the new fiscal year , States Newsroom and the Idaho Capital Sun reported.
