The Spokane Valley Fire Department said crews were dispatched around 2 p.m. to reports of a fire near milepost 4 of the trail. The size of the fire was not immediately known.
Spokane Valley Fire Department said the incident is a reminder that wildfire season is not yet over. Burn restrictions remain in place, and dry fuels combined with windy conditions continue to pose a significant risk.
