BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A city park in Brownsville that was destroyed in a fire over Thanksgiving break last year has officially reopened.

City leaders celebrated the re-grand opening of Harry E. McNair Park and its newly renovated playground with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

"The park has been fully restored, providing a safe and welcoming space for families, friends, and neighbors to enjoy," the City of Brownsville announced.

McNair Park is located on 350 E. St. Charles St. in Brownsville. Park grounds are open every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
