Gen V star Jaz Sinclair explains why Marie Moreau is embracing the darker side of her character in season 2. Since Marie's return to Godolkin University, Dean Cipher (Hamish Linklater) has been fixated on her reaching the full potential of her blood powers. Cipher even believes that she could become more powerful than Homelander (Antony Starr).

Gen V season 2, episode 5 sees Marie starting to believe this to a certain extent. Earlier in the episode, Marie admits to her friends that she felt stronger than ever before when she used her powers to levitate Jordan Li (Derek Luh/London Thor) during their fight, and Marie felt as though she could have destroyed the whole arena.
