What Calvert, Ruiz and protesters said as government shutdown began

One Republican and one Democrat represent the Coachella Valley in Congress. And on Wednesday, each bemoaned the government shutdown that began that morning while holding the other party responsible for it.

In addition to mirroring the finger-pointing happening nationally, the two also spoke about the impact the shutdown will have on their constituents and how they hope to limit it.
