Gov. Mike Braun said Wednesday he thinks the state might be moving toward federal redistricting, but he doesn’t think there would be repercussions from President Donald Trump’s administration if legislators don't.
Braun shared his thoughts on redistricting at a public safety news conference in Fort Wayne. That was one day after an Indiana nonprofit announced it filed a public records request seeking written correspondence between the White House and Braun’s office regarding mid-decade redistricting.
The request from Count US IN covers communications between Aug. 1 and Sept. 26 and specifically asks for records that reference federally funded programs, initiatives, projects or pending waivers that may have been tied to Indiana’s compliance with a map redraw, the nonprofit said.
Trump has
