SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The San Angelo Hispanic Heritage Museum and Cultural Center has spent years highlighting the contributions of the Hispanic Community, but it still doesn't have a building to call its own.
At the 2025 Hispanic Heritage Banquet on Sept. 27, hundreds filled the ASU CJ Davidson Conference Center. The event, featuring actor and activist Wilmer Valderrama, celebrated culture, history, and legacy, but also raised awareness about a missing piece: a permanent museum.
"Well, what we're trying to do is take baby steps, right?" said Luis Urtega, vice president of the museum's board. "It's an audacious goal that we have to have a building."
The museum currently operates through community events, educational programs, and cultural celebrations. Urtega said
