TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — If you are an Amazon customer, news of a $2.5 billion settlement with the Federal Trade Commission likely caught your attention, especially when you hear that about half of that is expected to go directly to consumers.

Amazon agreed to the settlement to resolve an antitrust lawsuit filed by the FTC, which alleged Amazon lured millions of consumers into enrolling in Prime subscriptions and then made those agreements extremely difficult to cancel.

Amazon admitted no wrongdoing and says they always followed the law.

If you enrolled in Prime between 2019 and June of this year and used the service less than three times the first year, or if you tried to cancel Prime but couldn't, you are eligible.
