Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is one of India’s most cherished festivals, symbolising the triumph of good over evil. Celebrated on the tenth day of Navratri and the conclusion of Durga Puja, the festival carries two powerful legends- Maa Durga’s victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura and Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana. In different regions, it is celebrated with unique names – Dashāhra in Bhojpuri and Maithili, and Dashain in Nepal. Still, the essence remains the same: a celebration of courage, righteousness, and hope.
