WEST BROOKFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A search for a missing swimmer in Lake Wickaboag in West Brookfield has been suspended until Thursday morning, according to officials.

The West Brookfield Police Department stated around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday that law enforcement was actively searching for a swimmer struggling in Lake Wickaboag. The public was advised to stay away from the area.

The search continued throughout the evening, drawing a large public safety response in the area. Due to the darkness, the search has since been suspended for the night and will resume Thursday morning.
