GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — In Lansing, some of the details of the budget that lawmakers will try to pass are starting to emerge.

House Republicans told News 8 political reporter Rick Albin that per pupil funding, already advertised as the highest in history, will be $10,050.00 — a new record. The new spending bill, when passed, will also restore money for school safety and mental health that had been previously slashed. Next year, the budget will provide $321 million for the program.

Other highlights include $14 million for cleanup from this year's northern Michigan ice storm, and $26 million for Selfridge Air Force base to prepare for the new mission there, featuring 20 Boeing F-15 EX fighter jets.
