More than $1.5 million will be spent on improving the health of waterways, protecting native wildlife and creating greener spaces in the City of Canning.
The Australian Government’s Urban Rivers and Catchments Program has provided a total of $1.525m for three projects.
They are weed control and revegetation in Yagan Reserve ($745,000), weed control and revegetation on the Shelley Rossmoyne Foreshore ($220,000) and a drainage retrofit at Queens Park Basin ($560,000).
The Water Corporation is contributing $100,000 to the Queens Park project.
The projects will tackle long-standing environmental issues such as slope instability, loss of native habitat and poor water quality.
