KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - When Tennessee entered its first of two open dates last season, the Vols were set to face Arkansas on the road, unbeaten, and ranked in the top ten nationally.
Following the open date, the Vols fell to the Razorbacks, 19-14, for the first and still only loss following a bye week since Josh Heupel’s tenure began in 2021.
One year later, the Volunteers are preparing for the same opponent, albeit one with an interim head coach. Arkansas will be Tennessee’s first opponent out of the bye week for the second straight season, with former Razorback head man Bobby Petrino serving as interim coach following the firing of Sam Pittman after a 2-3 start to 2025.
