Senator Chris Coons is turning up the pressure on Republicans as the government shutdown begins.
In a CNN report on Wednesday night, Coons expressed strong concerns about the effects the shutdown could have on everyday Americans, especially when it comes to healthcare.
He warned that major changes to healthcare coverage could happen quickly if the shutdown isn’t resolved soon.
"Loss of Medicaid coverage is going to throw millions of Americans off of healthcare," says Coons. "Starting this month, the loss of the Obamacare subsidies is going to raise health insurance rates for millions by double digits."
