COLCHESTER, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - Saint Michael's College in Colchester on Wednesday announced three initiatives, all aimed to make the cost of attending more affordable - especially for people who live in the area.
Saint Michael's said that it will cover tuition for all Vermont residents with a household income of $100,000 or less - though they will have to apply for Pell and VSAC grants first by filling out relevant paperwork, and maintain a GPA of at least 2.5, equivalent to a B- or C+ average.
For Vermonters with a household income above $100,000, St. Mike's will match the tuition and fees they'd have to pay at UVM, after institutional scholarships.
Finally, they said that any students living within 35 miles of the college and commute to campus will pay just $11,500 a year in tuition.
