MEXIA, Texas — Mexia ISD has a new interim Superintendent, Brad Andrews.

Mexia ISD has announced that Andrews has been approved for the position by the Board of Trustees.

Andrews has served as Deputy Superintendent at Mexia ISD since 2023. He first joined the district from Waxahachie ISD as Assistant Superintendent of District Operations and Instructional Technology.

Andrews takes the role following the retirement of previous Superintendent Ryder Appleton .

Mexia ISD said Andrews expressed his "deep appreciation to the Board for their support and for entrusting him with the opportunity to continue serving the students and staff of Mexia ISD - working together to build a better future."

Andrews has over 20 years of experience in education, having spent most of his career at Waxahachi
