DUMAS, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — A Dumas woman was sentenced to five years in prison after she was accused of attacking a Dumas Police Department sergeant.

Cassandra Leann Casucci was found guilty by a Moore County Jury for "Assault of a Peace Officer," stemming from an incident in January.

According to a news release from the State of Texas 69th District Attorney, police were called to a disturbance at a parking lot.

According to officers, Casucci was uncooperative and did not give identification.

Officers said Casucci became aggressive and shoved the officer. While she was taken to the ground, she also attempted to hit the officer and kicked him in the head.

She was sentenced to five years in prison on the charge.
