(WHTM) -- Incidents involving horse and buggies have been increasing with all the traffic on Pennsylvania roadways, PennDOT said.

“If you look at 30 over the last year in Pennsylvania, that is clearly an issue,” said Fritzi Schreffler, a PennDOT spokesperson.

It is an issue that’s occurred throughout parts of the Midstate.

The latest incident happened Sunday night in Northumberland County, just outside our viewing area.

“It is always sad to hear something about a community that really is a very peaceful community,” Schreffler said.

She told abc27 News there is a variety of factors which can cause these crashes.
