One night after leaving his starter in for 117 pitches, Red Sox manager Alex Cora pulled his Game 2 starter in the third inning.
Cora lifted Brayan Bello early after letting his ace Garrett Crochet go deep in Game 1.
The strategy did not pay off for Boston as the Yankees eventually got to the Red Sox bullpen en route to a series-tying 4-3 win in Game 2.
Now Cora may regret his decision heading into the decisive Game 3 on Thursday.
Boston utilized seven pitchers in the game, including stud reliever Garrett Whitlock for 1 2/3 innings, which could benefit the Yankees in Game 3.
