SHREVEPORT, La. - The government shutdown is already creating delays for some Shreveport projects.
According to Mayor Tom Arceneaux, three major infrastructure projects are in limbo unless lawmakers in Washington can strike a deal to open the government.
"I've lived through a number of government shutdowns. Some of them last a couple of days, some of them last several weeks," said Arceneaux.
On Wednesday, a U.S. Department of Transportation call on highways, including the Interstate 49 connector, was cancelled.
"There was supposed to be a conference call today about highways, plans and transportation. The Federal Highway Administration made a recommendation on the I-49 connector, but of course now that call is not happening," said Arceneaux.
